Humanity used to be unified, magical and unmagical, living in harmony. Then came the inquisitions, witch hunts and crusades. With nowhere left to turn, magic users left Earth behind, escaping to Faerie, an alternate dimension that is the home of the inscrutable Fae. But not all the Fae were happy to open their home to humans, and so, humanity retreated to the floating Isle of Avalon, protected by numerous enchantments. But even here, they must continue to protect themselves from the Fae's monstrosities, creatures, once human, who have since been twisted and warped into unnatural forms, and live only to cause misery and suffering to humans.
